Short Course: The Spectral Domain Method in Electromagnetics

This short course will present an overview of the spectral-domain immittance method in electromagnetics. The spectral-domain immittance method is powerful and systematic method for solving for the fields from sources in a layered medium. Applications include microstrip and printed antennas, microstrip lines, and sources that are on or within the earth. The method allows for a calculation of the total fields as well as a calculation of space-wave and surface-wave powers, so that the radiation efficiency of printed antennas can easily be calculated.
